In collaboration with UWC – Strategic Services on Unemployment and Workers’ Compensation, the IAIABC looks forward to hosting a forum on April 22, 2009 in Baltimore, Maryland with representatives of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the workers’ compensation community. In the forum we will attempt to:
- Provide an opportunity to discuss the new reporting requirements of Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA of 2007) with the CMS staff responsible for implementation of the requirements, obtain clarification about reporting responsibilities, and resolve as many outstanding questions as possible prior to the July 1, 2009 implementation date.
- Review the processes and procedures used by CMS with respect to Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set-Aside Arrangements (WCMSAs) with the CMS staff responsible for oversight of CMS contractors and seek solutions to ongoing issues.
The common goal of UWC and the IAIABC is to improve the prompt and efficient reporting and settlement of workers' compensation claims.
