(August 20, 2019 – Middleton, Wis.) – The IAIABC has had a long-standing partnership with ACORD to align its respective standards to improve workers’ compensation reporting. The result of this collaboration was the development and implementation of the ACORD Workers’ Compensation Reporting (WCR) XML Standard based on the IAIABC’s flat file, Claims Release 3.1 Standard.
Ensuring jurisdictions and data reporters could continue to leverage the benefits of XML in an equitable and sustainable way prompted the IAIABC to renegotiate contract terms with ACORD. Despite months-long discussions at the highest-levels, the partnership agreement with ACORD was officially terminated. The decision to end the ACORD partnership was made following thoughtful deliberations by the IAIABC Board of Directors with consultation with jurisdictional and industry partners throughout the process.
The IAIABC is committed to developing solutions that support jurisdictional efforts to implement efficient data reporting systems. To achieve this goal, the Board of Directors is actively considering all options for a long-term solution that will meet the needs of IAIABC members and industry stakeholders. The IAIABC has been and will continue to be in communication with affected jurisdictions, and once a decision has been made, will share next steps.
