Applications are being accepted Monday, October 16 through Friday, November 17, 2017.
Leaders serve for a two-year, calendar term. The IAIABC is seeking leaders for the January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2019 term.
Committee Leader Responsibilities
In order to meet the committee goals and work plan, committee leader expectations and responsibilities include:
Lead committee meetings
Travel to two face-to-face committee meetings
Prepare committee agendas and minutes
Manage the work and projects of the committee
Formulate ideas for future projects and discussions topics
Who pays for my travel?
Committee leaders are responsible for paying their own travel, accommodation, and conference registration expenses required to fulfill their commitment to participate at face-to-face committee meetings.
When are the face-to-face committee meetings?
In-person committee meetings are scheduled concurrently with two IAIABC conferences: The Forum (held in spring) and Convention (held in fall). More about these conferences can be found at www.iaiabc.org/educationhq.
Who is eligible to be a committee leader?
Any employee of an IAIABC member organization can be a leader of a general committee. Only U.S. Jurisdictional and EDI Members are eligible to be leaders of the EDI committees.
How are the committees organized?
Each committee has a chair and vice chair who are appointed as leaders to a two-year term by the IAIABC President. Committee members are appointed to a one-year term, also by the IAIABC President. The committees report to the IAIABC Board of Directors. Each committee is assigned a board liaison and staff liaison.
