Participating in committee calls
Traveling to attend at least one of the two annual face-to-face committee meetings
Working with committee leaders and members on current projects
Assisting the committee leaders with formulating ideas for future projects and discussions topics
Who pays for my travel?
Committee members are responsible for paying their own travel, accommodation, and conference registration expenses required to fulfill their commitment to participate in face-to-face committee meetings.
When are the face-to-face committee meetings?
In-person committee meetings are scheduled concurrently with the two IAIABC conferences: The Forum (held in spring) and Convention (held in fall). More about these conferences can be found at www.iaiabc.org/educationhq.
Who is eligible to be a committee member?
Any employee of an IAIABC member organization can be a committee member. However, your organization must have a Jurisdictional or EDI Membership to be eligible to be a member of an EDI committee.
How are the committees organized?
Each committee has a chair and vice chair who are appointed as leaders to a two-year term by the IAIABC President. Committee members are appointed to a one-year term, also by the IAIABC President. The committees report to the IAIABC Board of Directors. Each committee is assigned a board liaison and staff liaison.
How many openings are there per committee?
There is no limit to the number of members a committee can have, so long as all committee members are actively participating.
