IAIABC committees have been a bedrock of the Association since its inception, leading to resources and information that promote the IAIABC's mission. Here you can find information on how to apply for a committee.

The IAIABC is currently seeking volunteers for the following committees:

How to Apply/Deadline

Please complete the IAIABC Committee Membership Application to apply for committee membership. To request membership to more than one committee, please fill out a separate form for each. Current committee members must reapply each year for reappointment to a committee. 

 

Applications are being accepted Monday, October 16 through Friday, November 17, 2017.

Timeline

  1. October 16 through November 17:  Applications are accepted
  2. November 20 through December 1: Submitted applications are reviewed by IAIABC President
  3. Week of December 4: All applicants are notified via email of application status

Term

Volunteers are sought for the January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018 term.

Committee Member Responsibilities

In order to meet the committee goals and work plan, committee member expectations and responsibilities include: 

  • Participating in committee calls
  • Traveling to attend at least one of the two face-to-face committee meetings
  • Working with committee leaders and members on current projects 
  • Assisting the committee leaders with formulating ideas for future projects and discussions topics

FAQs

Who pays for my travel?

Committee members are responsible for paying their own travel, accommodation, and conference registration expenses required to fulfil their commitment to participate in face-to-face committee meetings.

When are the face-to-face committee meetings?

In-person committee meetings are scheduled concurrently with the two IAIABC conferences: The Forum (held in spring) and Convention (held in fall).  More about these conferences can be found at www.iaiabc.org/educationhq.

Who is eligible to be a committee member?

Any employee of an IAIABC member organization can be a committee member. 

How are the committees organized? 

Each committee has a chair and vice chair who are appointed as leaders to a two-year term by the IAIABC President. Committee members are appointed to a one-year term, also by the IAIABC President. The committees report to the IAIABC Board of Directors. Each committee is assigned a board liaison and staff liaison.

How many openings are there per committee?

There is no limit to the number of members a committee can have, so long as all committee members are actively participating.
