Strategic Plan

In February 2026, the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions initiated development of its next strategic plan. The plan was reviewed by the Board of Directors in April 2026 and approved in May 2026.

The new plan was developed through a rigorous process that included an environmental scan, structured stakeholder interviews with board members, committee leaders, and staff, and a comprehensive SWOT analysis. This foundation ensured the plan reflects strong alignment across the organization and is directly responsive to what members and leaders identified as the IAIABC's most important priorities and opportunities.

The proposed plan is built around four strategic pillars designed to position the IAIABC for long-term impact.

  1. Organizational and Financial Resilience focuses on strengthening the operating model, clarifying roles and succession, aligning governance structures, and establishing a long-term financial strategy that enables sustainable investment.
  2. Brand, Value, and Impact centers on defining and communicating a clear value proposition for all members and repositioning EDI as a strategic asset.
  3. Member Engagement and Industry Leadership aims to reestablish the IAIABC as the premier convening forum by redesigning flagship events and further engaging senior industry leaders.
  4. Member Value and Service Innovation emphasizes expanding education, developing partnerships, creating new programs that enhance member value and position the organization as a leading industry resource.

The plan is designed to be executed in phases, beginning with strengthening the organization's foundation, followed by the development and launch of key initiatives, and culminating in evaluation, refinement, and long-term sustainability. This sequenced approach ensures the organization can execute effectively, align efforts with available capacity, and build momentum over time.
