Stephen A. Mason, Jr. is an experienced information systems leader with over 20 years of specialized expertise in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Claims and Proof of Coverage processes. Based in Lexington, Kentucky, he currently serves as the Information Systems Branch Manager for the Kentucky Department of Workers’ Claims, where he oversees technical operations, regulatory compliance, digitization initiatives, and supervisory functions for EDI teams.
Stephen’s background includes programming and systems analysis experience, with a foundation in C#, Java, .NET, SQL, and data management. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with state partners, industry leaders, and policymakers to develop best practices, modernize processes, and implement effective system solutions.
Committed to service and leadership, Stephen is an active member and current Chair of the IAIABC (International Association of Industrial Accidents Boards and Commissions) Claims Committee, while also contributing to multiple additional committees. He has long-standing leadership roles within Wesley United Methodist Church and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., supporting community development, youth mentorship, and charitable initiatives.
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from Kentucky State University and is recognized for his strengths in problem-solving, communication, and team leadership.
