                                          Throughout his career as a journalist and television host, John Quiñones, seeks out the quiet and forgotten                                              voices. When we listen to those who are "moved and shaken," we can better understand. Using this as a                                                    lesson, Mr. Quiñones's story will begin a day focused on the voices of workers' compensation.

                                          This conversation between a vocational rehabilitation professional and a worker who has experienced an                                                  injury at work will share the real journey of recovery, rehabilitation, and return to work. The story will                                                          highlight motivations, uncover barriers, and share strategies that lead to successful outcomes following an                                              injury or illness at work.

                                          There are many roles that aid, assist, and advocate throughout the workers' compensation process.                                                              Perspectives from claims, ombuds, and attorneys will spotlight common challenges and frustrations. These                                              discussions will identify opportunties to improve communication and resources to make the system work                                                more effectively.
1:30 - 2:30 pm              Canadian Spotlight: Hosted by the International Committee
                                          Leaders from three Canadian workers’ compensation jurisdictions will join us to discuss how the workers'                                                  compensation system is structured in their province or territory including what different mandates exist for                                            such key areas as enforcement and prevention. The panelists will also share current and further                                                                    organizational challenges and opportunities.

                                          The most successful outcomes occur when there is a trusting relationship between the care provider,                                                          worker who was injured, and employer. Providers will discuss how policy, practice, and reimbursment are                                                  shaped by different healthcare environments. These perspectives will offer strategies on how to promote                                                  recovery and return to work.

                                          Compliance programs create fairness across employers and protect employees within a jurisdiction. The                                                    Compliance Spotlight Series describes different approaches and techniques to enhance compliance                                                            programs of all sizes.

3:30 - 4:00 pm              IAIABC Annual Business Meeting
                                          The IAIABC Board of Directors will report on the Association's membership, financials, programs, and                                                          resources and members will have the opportunity to provide feedback. The 2021-2022 Board of Directors                                                election results will be announced and new leadership sworn-in.
