This collaborative paper between the IAIABC and NAIC explores how changes in work and the evolving landscape of legal employment are shifting responsibility for coverage and benefits for occupational injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.
Policymakers and regulators need to understand how these changes may create gaps in coverage for workers and leave employers vulnerable to uncertain liability for injuries and deaths on the job. The paper also explores alternative policy solutions to ensure workers have access to benefits if they suffer an injury at work.
