Aubrey Chigwada

Aubrey serves as the Director of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Office of Workers Compensation and oversees the claims, litigation, workplace safety and loss control programs for the 150,000 employees working for the Commonwealth’s State agencies.   Prior to joining the Executive Branch, Aubrey was the Insurance Compliance Manager for the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, where he focused on developing automated, paperless administrative processes, and established the Commission’s first Compliance Investigations Unit, which has led to a decrease in Uninsured employers operating in the state.  Before moving to Virginia and working in the public sector, Aubrey spent 10 years in New York working in various risk management roles for commercial carriers, brokers, and fortune 500 companies specializing in claims management, and loss control.  Aubrey obtained his undergraduate degree in Risk Management from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has an MBA in Management.
