The Western Association of Workers' Compensation Boards will host a virtual educational meeting Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 11am-3:15pm CT. 

Western Association of Workers' Compensation Boards (WAWCB) members are jurisdictional workers' compensation agencies from the western region of the U.S. including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

This meeting will be free to WAWCB members and $75 for non-WAWCB members.

Speakers:

Seth Boateng, Senior Data Analyst, New Mexico Workers' Compensation Administration

Seth Boateng is a seasoned data and finance professional with advanced training in economics and accounting. He holds a Master of Science in Economics and a Master of Arts in Accounting, providing a strong analytical and financial foundation that informs his work across public-sector organizations.

                                                                             Seth currently serves as Senior Data Analyst at the New Mexico Workers'                                                                                       Compensation Administration, where he supports data-driven decision-                                                                                       making, performance analysis, and policy-relevant insights. Prior to this role,                                                                               he worked as Principal Accountant for the City of Rio Rancho from June                                                                                       2018 to October 2023, overseeing complex financial operations, reporting,                                                                                 and compliance for municipal government. His career reflects a strong                                                                                         commitment to public service, fiscal responsibility, and the strategic use of                                                                                 data to improve organizational outcomes.

    Charles Cordova, Economist, New Mexico Workers' Compensation                          Administration

    Charles Cordova is an economist in the Economic Research and                                Policy Bureau at the New Mexico Workers' Compensation Administration.            With over 20 years of experience in market research, economic                                development,  and analytics, he specializes in modernizing regulatory                  processes through data science and technological advancement. His work                                                                                  focuses on  improving workers’  compensation reporting through enhanced                                                                              data collection, automation, and the integration of modern coding                                                                                                techniques. Charles combines a background in applied economics with                                                                                        technical expertise to develop clearer, more informative tools for                                                                                                    understanding complex claims and budget data.

               Becky Curtis, Speaker. Coach. Advocate

               Becky Curtis is a nationally recognized speaker and pioneer in the field of                      chronic pain recovery. Her voice is one of rare authenticity - combining the                    raw truth of lived experience with the insight of decades of healing,                                coaching, and leadership.
              Becky is a sought-after keynote speaker and workshop leader, known for                        blending science, story, and strategy into every presentation. She has                              presented at PAINWeek™, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, state                                Workers’  Compensation conferences, and a range of national wellness and                    healthcare events.

           Irina Nemirovsky, Research Data Specialist III, Commission on Health and                     Safety and Workers’ Compensation, California Department of Industrial                         Relations

           Irina Nemirovsky is Research Data Specialist III of the Commission on Health               and Safety and Workers’ Compensation (CHSWC) with the California                               Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). During her tenure, she has                               managed multiple research studies within DIR and provides oversight of the              Worker Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program                      (WOSHTEP). This includes serving on advisory committees related to                                                                                              workers’ compensation and health and safety programs and working with                                                                                  stakeholders to identify new ways in which WOSHTEP can be used to                                                                                            improve health and safety for California workers and employers. She is a                                                                                      member of the Small Business Injury and Illness Prevention Program                                                                                              Taskforce and the California Partnership for Young Worker Health and Safety.                                                                              Ms. Nemirovsky is the recipient of the California Department of Industrial                                                                                    Relation’s Superior Accomplishment Award in recognition of her efforts in                                                                                    coordinating numerous projects across divisions that have led to                                                                                                    improvements in public policy. Ms. Nemirovsky earned her MSc in Economics                                                                            for Development at Oxford University and her B.A. degrees in Environmental                                                                             Sciences and Political Economy from University of California, Berkeley.
